Max Wroten - Finance Director

Max and wife Patti reside in Deephaven, Minnesota (a western suburb of the twin cities). Max is consultant in Food & Beverage operations. His three main customer segments are casinos, restaurants and schools. Max has been consulting for 9 years. Patti is a middle school principal. They have no children, only 1 spoiled pooch; Baxter. In addition to tournament hunting, Max enjoys wild bird hunting (upland and waterfowl) and goes hunting in one manner or another about 90 days a year (including tournaments). He also enjoys golf and fishing when time permits.

Carla Haglund - Operations Coordinator and Member Service Representative

Carla and her daughter, Cheyanne, reside in Pine Island, MN. Carla has been employed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for 14 years as a research coordinator in the department of Pediatric Cardiology with a study focus on sudden unexplained death in children and young adults. Carla has been working with the BDC for the last 3 years as a scorekeeper. You will usually find her in a flushing field and 9 times out of 10 with a big smile on her face. Carla and Cheyanne have a yellow lab named Tango who is currently in NE Texas being trained by her brother, Rusty, and is expected to return home in December. Carla’s other hobbies include golfing and watching her daughter compete in basketball, volleyball, softball, National Duck Dog Challenge, and of course, tournament hunting.

John Thompson - K-Bar-C Hunting Ranch

John Thompson was born in St. Peter, MN. He lived in Davis City, IA from the age of 2 until he married Rosemary Swift of Grant City, MO in 1967. They moved to California where Rosemary completed graduate school, obtaining a Ph.D. degree in Marine Biology from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, CA. They moved to Santa Barbara where they still reside and have a daughter who is a certified veterinary technician. She resides in Berthoud, CO. Some of his occupations included Data Process Manager and Manufacturing Control Analyst for Burroughs Corporation, before they became Unisys Corporation. He later became a licensed contractor and started a construction company with his brother-in-law. In 1997, he and his brother Arnold, Lee Neary, started the National Bird Dog Challenge Association (NBDCA) in Davis City, IA where they ran events on a 1000-acre farm that he had purchased for hunting and is now known as the K-BAR-C Hunting Ranch. He sold the NBDCA to Tournament Hunter in 2002, and he is now retired.

Chris Riddle - Region 1

Chris Riddle, owner of 6R Upland Kennels is a Dog Breeder and Professional Trainer who helps clients get their dogs ready to become great hunting companions. Prior to establishing his breeding and training business Chris spent 25 years in the food business, but his strong passion for hunting brought him back to his true love, raising and training dogs. He spent 15 years training dogs with Darrel Keenan who has 55 years experience as a breeder and trainer. Chris specializes in pointing breeds and guides on over 20,000 acres of land in Central Iowa. Chris also competes in the Bird Dog Challenge Series, he started in September of 2008 and in March of 2009 he and Duece placed 4th overall in the amateur division, Chris's second dog Ajax just won his first amateur title on March 21, 2009 at the Beulah Ridge Invitational. Both Ajax and Duece will be competing in the upcoming year. The whole family hunts, and youth hunts around the Riddle house in the early years were a real treat. Everyone including the Maltese dog Chase joined in on the hunts. Chris has spent the last 9 years breeding and training dogs on his own and now enjoys doing this as a full time job. He knows with out the help of his Faith, Family, and the Friendships that he has come to develop that his dream come true would not have been possible.

Bob Garrity is the owner of a Mechanical Contracting company for the last 15yrs, Before that he was employed for the Anamax Corporation for 25yrs as a Project Manger. Bob and his wife Lisa have been married for 28 yrs. They reside in DePere, WI. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Bob owns 2 German wirehair pointers; a male Albert and a female Einstein. He has been enjoying bird hunting for 5yrs. His accomplishments have been the 2008 Worlds Champion, 2007 & 2008 National DBL Champion, 2008 Players DBL Champion, and WI Series Dog Of The Year 05,06,07,and 08. Outside of Bird hunting Bob enjoys working and spending time with his family and friends.

Richard and his wife Marlene have 37 year old twin boys and six grandchildren. He retired as co-head of the world’s largest private bank in 2004. His first competition was Oct 2007. Subsequently, Cooper won the Players (doubles); Uno won the Invitational with Cooper third; Charlotte won The Tournament of Champions with Dixie second. Dixie has also won one other major. All his “roadsters” are Labs.

Ray is an attorney and the Executive Director of the Great Lakes Region of the Portland Cement Association. He and his wife, Kim, share their home with three Brittanys (Buster, Jazz and Lucy) and a cat (Midnight). He has been competing in tournament hunting for about 3 years and has been active in BDC for about a year. His greatest achievement in the game consists of the friendships that he has developed with other competitors from around the country. His trophied achievements in the game include 2008 Quail Classic Amateur Pointer Champion and Runner-Up; 2008 Players Championship Amateur Pointer Champion; 2008-9 Amateur Dog of the Year Runner-Up; 2009 BDC Nationals Master Pointer 3rd Place; Illinois Upland Championship 2006 Top Gun Pointer Champion; Illinois Upland Championship 2006 Sportsman of the Year.

Bing is a single rancher from Lovelock, NV. He farms 1000 acres of alfalfa hay and grain. He also hauls cattle for hire with his own truck. Bing enjoys guiding big game and birds for Nevada High Ridge Outfitters. He started competing with dogs about 6 years ago and with BDC 2 years ago. His top accomplishment in BDC was winning the 2009 National Champion Master Flushing Division with Hey Joe. His dogs are Jack, Sage, Jill – English Pointers, Rusty – German Shorthair, Sierra- Choc Lab and newest is Buddy- Yellow Lab 3 Months.

Dan has been employed at Laramie County Public Works for nineteen years as an operator. He and his wife, Annette have been married for nineteen years and they have two children, Lainie and Dax. His hunting partners are his dad and son. They travel to as many tournaments as they can get to during the year. His dogs are Tessa, Dee, and Shar, and he also run his dads dogs Ike and Ruby. The Cathcart’s have had enough success in the last seven years to keep them going. Dan also attends rodeos during the summer months and competes in steer wrestling.
